I've been building applications for 25+ years, across client/server, web, and mobile. I led mobile engineering teams at Nokia, then founded UXFLIP, a mobile SDK company that was acquired by Artisan Mobile, where I served as Director of Innovation. More recently I led mobile engineering at Discover Financial Services.
The through line across all of it: I think in systems. I'm drawn to the gaps between disciplines, the places where product, engineering, and human behavior intersect and nobody has named what's missing yet.
Agent Runtime Surface is one of those gaps. I named the primitive in March 2026; the articles trace how it came into focus. I write about other intersections at TheMobileArchitect.com and MichaelRaber.com.
